Friday wrap up.....

As yet another week pass by it is once again time to catch everyone up on the events that occur in the House ‘o’ Estrogen. Life is never dull when you live in a house full of women.

What was once a promising season for my beloved Niners is turning into a serious cluster-fuck as they continue to struggle. The Giants handed them a 33-15 beat down in NYC this past weekend. Fortunately I didn’t watch the game on TV. Hunter and I went to see the movie “30 Days of Night” with my friends Dave and Eric. Awesome movie, gory, suspenseful, and chock full of vampires wreaking havoc and generally causing some serious destruction. If you like vampire movies, I give this one 4 out of 5 stars. Back to my beloved Niners for just a bit: The team is without starting QB Alex Smith, but that excuse is wearing quite thin at this time. C’mon guys, this is the NFL and if you aren’t winning, then you aren’t going to contend for any kind of post season berth. Step it up and get the fucking job done guys!!!!

As for my beloved Seahawks they finally got the job done against the hapless Rams with a 33-6 win at Qwest Field. And it’s about friggin’ time too; had the ‘Hawks not won, I was considering finding a tall building and jumping the fuck off of it. (that’s a joke people…) Congrats to the Seahawks who have a record of 4-3 on the season and are looking to take their winning ways into their bye week where they will get the chance to rest up a bit before continuing on through the rest of the season and hopefully into the post season. WTG SEATTLE!!!!!!

Ok faithful readers lets get something cleared up right now: I HATE TO SLEEP ALONE!!!! Now granted Mrs. Sheldon has this tendency to want to suck all of my bodily warmth from me by cruising over to my side of the bed at night, and while that can be a bit uncomfortable I have gotten used to it, and when necessity dictates I can fend her off pretty well. But this past weekend Mrs. Sheldon went to Spokane for some job training and let my ass here to sleep ALONE!!!!! I don’t like this, not one little bit. I like being able to roll over and give her a kiss while she sleeps; when I do this she always smiles, and I loves to see my wife smile. And I love to bring her coffee in the mornings. I had nobody to bring coffee to on Monday morning. I was less than happy. Memo to Mrs. Sheldon: This had better not happen too often. And if it does you had better be getting paid some serious overtime. Or a bonus or something. Sleeping alone SUCKS IT HARD AND LONG!!!! And not in the way I like.

It’s going to be the Boston Red Sox against the Colorado Rockies in the 2007 World Series. The Rockies have been waiting for a couple of days to find out if they were going to play the Cleveland Indians or the Res Sox. And the Red Sox came from being down 3 games to 1 to take the ALCS in convincing fashion. The Red Sox clinched the best of 7 series with a very emphatic 11-2 win over the Indians on Sunday night; in fact the Red Sox outscored the Indians 30-5 over the course of the last 3 games. I am conflicted as I really like the Rockies and I really like the Red Sox. So it’s going to be a hard decision to make as to who I am going to root for in this year’s Fall Classic. Stay tuned for my decision at some point in the future. In the meantime congrats to both the Rockies and the Red Sox for winning their respective League Championships; it looks to be a great World Series.

Lots of awesome movies coming to theaters near you as the holidays approach. A couple stand out that I will definitely be seeing. First is “Alien vs Predator 2: Requiem” This one looks cool as hell. Gory, bloody, with lots of mayhem, aliens, predators, and gunplay. What more could a guy ask for over the Christmas holiday? And the other one that really stands out is the movie adaptation of Stephen Kings short story “The Mist” which can be found with a few other of Kings short stories in the collection “Skeleton Crew.” This is one of the better stories that King has written and that is really saying something. The trailers make the movie look fucking awesome, and as long as they don’t stray too far from the original story this could wind up being one of the very best adaptations of a Stephen King story yet. The movie drops on November 21st and you can bet that I will be in a theater the following weekend with my popcorn and Mt. Dew in hand waiting to have the bejeezus scared out of me.

Mid terms are done, and I feel like I am carrying a solid B average so far. This class I am taking is a little harder than the others and the teacher is teaching the class as if we’re all working on our Masters degrees. Memo to teacher: We’re NOT working on our Masters degrees and your notion that memorization of this material is needed really kind of flies in the face of all of the other teachers and how they teach in the CDP program. All of the other teachers have based their classes on the idea that it is better to be able to know WHERE to get the proper answers for any questions rather than MEMORIZING the answers. I know that in my everyday work life I haven’t yet had to memorize anything I use for my case management, or for group time. I have RESOURCES I can look things up in when I need to. All of the other CDP teachers have told us repeatedly that it’s not important to memorize things, but it is pretty valuable to know where to find the answers you need. Normally I am a bit of an Alpha personality when it comes to my grades; always wanting the A. Not this quarter people, I am just looking to survive and pass the class.

360 people are beginning to migrate to other sites for to get their blog on. The latest has been Multiply, and I have to confess I have a site there also. And the only reason I have a site there is because it’s FREE. Don’t get me wrong, I love to blog, I just don’t do it enough to warrant paying for a place to do it. And so far Multiply looks pretty cool. I am happy to be there, I like it way better than Mash, and being as one of the apps on Facebook gave Mrs. Sheldons and my computer a virus, we have since given up on our Facebook accounts. So between MySpace, Multiply. 360. and Blogger I have lots of FREE sites to post my weekly rants.

Tomorrow is the DAY!!!!! Me, Hunter, and our friend Gary are going to Seattle to see KoRn play at the Wamu Theater!!! I am beyond excited for a couple of reasons: One is that it will be Hunter’s 1st time seeing them, and he has liked their music since their “Issues” CD was released back in November of 1999. His favorite song from that CD is “Falling Away From Me”, I like all of that CD. I became a fan of KoRn back in the late 1990’s and that wasn’t such a good time for me. I was deep into my active addiction and very angry at the world. KoRn’s music had an energy that really spoke to me at the time, and I found it completely fascinating how they came up with their sound. After doing a bit of research I found out that 7 string guitars played through a mind bending rack of effects pedals allowed them to achieve the sounds that to me did not sounds anything like any guitar I had ever heard at the time. That was my initial attraction to KoRn. The angry lyrics and attitude of the band completed the whole deal for me, and I was a fan for life. I have seen KoRn 4 times, and I have loved every time I have seen them. I have too many favorites from their catalog to name just one. “Freak on a Leash”, “A.D.I.D.A.S.”, “Evolution”, “Blind”, “Make Me Bad”, “Here to Stay” are just a few of my favorite KoRn songs, I can only hope they play some of them at the show. Hunter has been bouncing off of the walls in excitement for this show. He has been hounding me to pick up KoRn latest CD called “Untitled” and I will be picking it up tonight. Gary is super excited to be going to the show; it’s his 1st time to see the boyz from Bakersfield too. I am not sure if I will be able to get any picture of the show, it is at an indoor venue and I haven’t any idea about the stipulations regarding cameras. I don’t think I am even going to take Mrs. Sheldons camera to Seattle with us, maybe I will to get pics of the trip. We’ll see.

And that’s it for another week. I am glad that you have read through another long post full of the stuff of my life in a house full of women. Life is good, I have never been happier than I am at this time in my life. I will heading back into lurk mode, commenting and reading those of you who still post on 360. Have a great weekend, and thanx for listening everyone…
